Here’s a poster I’ve just finished printing for a local gig. It’s two blocks of lino – one being a simple block of light blue under the main black illustration. I’ve just about managed to run off ten of these for the venue to distribute, but I have been having a real headache with some new inks I have been using. The ink just wont take properly to the paper unless I extend it and thin it down with a bit of oil, but it gets a bit too wet and ends up filling in some details. It could be that my press isn’t strong enough to put the necessary pressure on the print when I work at this size, so I’m going to get myself to Hot Bed Press next week to try it out on the Albion press.
The good news is that I am now booked onto a screenprinting course and a letterpress course at Hot bed Press – can’t wait!
